Prof W. Onyango-Ouma holds BA & MA in Anthropology Degrees from the University of Nairobi and a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen. He is a Research Professor at the Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies, University of Nairobi with 20 years’ experience in teaching and research. He has an extensive background and experience in socio-behavioural research. Over the course of his career, he has directed and conducted formative and applied research on a range of topics including children and youth, cultural change and development, anthropology of education, sexual and gender based violence among children, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, quality of health care, vaccine introduction, policy analysis, cash transfers for social protection, violence against women and children, environmental anthropology, among others. He has published extensively in these areas of interest.
